Original Madras Trading's cotton shirts pay homage to rich origin story of Madras cloth and its profound ties to both the American and Indian societies and their two tremendously distinct and yet interwoven cultures.
Their Engineered Seersucker Weave is a handwoven seersucker, produced on handlooms by using warp yarns of alternating tension to create the cloth’s distinctive crinkled texture. This puckering, combined with its breathable construction, makes seersucker particularly effective in warm weather. By engineering the knotting across the warp, Original Madras Trading has created a variety of band widths to ensure each garment is unique.
Made by their team in India at their studio in Madras with pure cotton handwoven by weavers on proprietary handlooms and then cut and stitched by their in-house tailors.
